1st Rank in Data Analytics Hackathon

Harnaman Kaur, Kratika Gupta, Niveditha N and Madhumita Vadlamannati from IEEE IIT Mandi were declared the winning team in Electrothon, a Hackathon by SPEC, NIT Hamirpur, under the organisational problem statement category by Suitable AI for developing a web application based on data sourcing and analytics.

Bronze category in Darrel Chong Student Activity Award 2020

IEEE IIT Mandi won the prestigious award for organising IEEE Awareness talk and IEE E Project for Kids: Renewable Energy for Future. he purpose of this recognition system serves to change the mindset of our student grou p s, from being number-driven to becoming value-driven and to acknowledge exemplary student activities around the world. The goal is to improve the quality of activities and to foster knowledge sharing among students.

Power and Electronics Society (PES) Chapter, IEEE IIT Mandi secured 2nd position in IEEE Region R10 (Asia and Pacific) for achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals by doing several humanitarian activites and technical activites for the benefits of the local community.

1st Prize, Mr. Virendra Singh, MTech (PED) for MTech thesis on Integrated On-board Battery Charger for Plug-in Electric Vehicles, guided by Dr. Narsa Reddy and Dr. Bharat Singh Rajpurohit

To be considered as a recipient of the IAS Student Thesis Contes thesis must have successfull y been defended within two calendar years prior to the submission and be relevant to the scope of the IA-Society. The candidate should be an I higher-grade member for at least one year before the contest submission.
Mr. Singh received B.Tech degree in electrical engineering from Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya Haridwar, Uttrakhand in 2017 and the M.Tech. degree in power electronics and drives from the I nd Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi), Himachal Pradesh, in 2019. Currently he is working as project associate in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)Madras. He is student member of IEEE sinc November 20 1 7. His areas of research interest are; power electronic converters, electrical drives, smart grid, microgrid, electric vehicles, energy storage system, renewable energy, and power quality.

3rd Prize, Mr. Gaurav Gautam, MTech (PED) for MTech thesis on Acoustic Noise and Vibration Reduction in PMSM Drive guided by Dr.Bharat Singh Rajpurohit

Mr. Gautam received his B. Tech. degree in electrical engineering f University, India, in 2014 a nd M. Tech. degree in electrical engineering with specialization in po electronics and drives from Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, India, in 2019. Currently, he is working with R&D wing of Electronics a n d Electrical Engineering department of Indian Institute Technology Guwahati. His research interest includes power quality, Grid connected operation, drive and its control, MMC and its applications. He is also a student member of IEEE, IAS.
